JERVIS BAY MARITIME MUSEUM 2020

Tucked away on the shores of Currambene Creek in Jervis Bay is this delightful maritime museum. Set in beautiful grounds in what was once a drydock and shipyard, there is still work going on here as volunteers restore boats in the old workshops. It's a fascinating process to see. The big highight for me was finding they have a complete Sydney Harbour ferry on display INSIDE the museum! The Lady Denman was towed up from Sydney and pulled across the shore to its resting place inside the museum's main building. You are free to wander around on the ferry and there is a good opportunity to take a selfy with the supplied captain's hat. The museum details the rich maritime history of the area with some excellent displays and models. It's also a nice place to bring a picnic lunch out in the grounds overlooking the old docks.
